This is an antique presentation serving tray. An English, silver plated afternoon tea platter, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1895.
- Prize-winning celebration tray with fascinating detail
- Displays a desirable aged patina, with light tarnishing from decades of gentle polishing
- Bright, reflective silver plate beams with crisp tonality
- Attractive shaped handles adorned with scrolled leaf decoration
- Engraved upon a diamond lozenge to centre, with pattern border to tray edge
- Engraving reads '1st Prize, San Stefano Regatta, 5th September, 1897 - Gwyneth
- Further personally engraved to a Stephen Nowill
- Maker's marks to rear bear the Nowill name and D* trademark for John Nowill of Sheffield
