This is an antique overmantel mirror. An Italian, classical-revival, gilt gesso wall mirror dating to the mid 19th century, circa 1850.
- Superb gilt gesso frame adorned with bountiful detail
- Original mirror plate displaying desirable light foxing
- Brass mountings for wall hanging
- Displays wonderful colour and aged patina
- A decorative mask sits proudly above the frame, setting off the classical style fittingly
- Decorated with scrolls, foliate detail and motif
- Generous size mirror plate (79cm/31" wide, 105cm/41.25" high) is bright and in original order
- Scroll bracket to each side providing support for mounting above a fireplace
