This is an antique oval mirror. An English, gilt gesso and glass Adam style mirror, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1890.

- Displays a desirable aged patina
- Elegant gilt gesso showing rich golden hues throughout
- Mirror plate in good order with minimal foxing
- Ornate surmount depicting a pair of Griffon united by braided wreathes to a central urn
- Griffon well detailed with finely crafted wings and heads
- The perimeter of the bevelled frame decorated with a continuous beading
- The rear finished with a pair of brass hanging loops with wire — marked with A20
This antique mirror is a fascinating example of the Adamesque revival that was favourable in the Victorian period. Delivered polished and ready for the home.
