This is an antique occasional table. A Victorian, Chinese elm octagonal coffee or lamp table in strong Moorish taste and dating to the mid 19th century, circa 1850.
- Burnt red hues to the lacquered Chinese elm table top and legs
- Aged running repairs as typical of a piece from this period
- Two piece, folding design well suited to occasional use
- Octagonal table top with bevelled edge and decorated with panels of temples, warriors and elephants
- Similar decoration is found on each panel of the folding stand
- Standing upon legs carved into the shape of minarets
This is a fascinating occasional table, eye-catching in its decorative Moorish taste. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
