This is an antique museum specimen cabinet. An English, walnut side or document cabinet by Cubitt, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Of exceptional museum showcase quality, to be expected of Cubitt
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
- Select walnut shows superb grain interest and warm caramel hues
- Excellent through-dovetail joints visible to the top surface
- Fascinating remnant label to front - On His Majesty's Service
- Two field panel doors, the right hand door dressed with an inset brass-lined lock — key present
- Pairs of shelves within, can be arranged to one of ten positions or removed
- Ideal for use as an Audio Visual cabinet or spirits cupboard
- Maker's mark to interior reads 'Cubitt, Oct & Nov 1896' with serial number
- Subtly raised upon squat block feet to each corner
