This is an antique merchant's trunk. An English, metal bound, ebonised pine tool chest, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1890.

Displays a desirable aged patina and weathering
Metal bound and riveted for strength over quality, ebonised pine
Iron loop handles to either end aid carrying

Working lock with brass escutcheon, key present
Gothic revival style key enhanced with charming Half Crown coin
Decorative brass studs add further visual appeal
