This is a substantial antique mercantile chest. An English, pine shipping trunk with tin lined interior, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880. 

• Bound and braced, with an attractive Victorian appeal
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
• Select pine stocks present a fine grain interest and warm caramel hues
• Iron bound throughout, with corner caps and bracing

• Stout top opening upon an internal stay hinge to the left
• Finished with a tin-lined interior with prominent lip
• Helps maintain a cool, fresh ambient temperature within the chest
• Dressed with a pair of drop handles to either end for ease of carriage
