This is an antique life pool scoreboard. An English, mahogany 12 player board by Thurston & Co, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Charming scoreboard for the 19th century pocket billiards game of Life Pool
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
- Dressed with a pair of small brass mounting loops, for ease of wall hanging
- Wonderful pediment form with a wide crown moulding in the classical manner
- Celluloid player markers to the left-hand edge sit alongside painted player ball colour labels
- Sliding to the right, each ball colour reveals three inset markers - or lives - for scoring
- Maker's emblem to the pediment for Thurston & Co - Catherine Street, Strand in London
- Details the royal appointment granted by Queen Victoria and The Prince of Wales, Prince Albert
