This is an antique ginger jar. An Oriental, cloisonne spice urn, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Highly decorative example of cloisonne
- Displays a desirable aged patina
- Cloisonne in good order throughout
- Dome top decorated with a pink flower, blue hemispheres and bronze trim
- Midnight black ground decorated with bright, golden cloud pattern
- Copious foliate detail, joined by flying birds
- Blue, turquoise and capsicum foliate detail encircles the brass coloured rim
- Rim diameter of 6.5cm (2.5")
- Interior of jar finished in attractive, deep turquoise hue
- Standing upon a bronze painted rim with turquoise base
