This is an antique free-standing pew. A Scottish, oak bench seat with ecclesiastical taste, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Fine example of Scottish Victorian craftsmanship
- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
- Select oak shows fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays
- Deep caramel hues present beneath a wax polish finish
- Rolled top with beaded upper over a panelled back rest
- Delightfully shaped sides and lower apron with broad, serpentine surfaces
- Comfortable, flat seat squab at a comfortable height of 44cm (17.25")
- Stout stave feet, skilfully formed and of free-standing nature
This is a superb antique free-standing pew, with select Scotch oak and fine colour. Comfortable of height and suitable for centre room placement if required. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home or institution.
