This is an antique fold over games table. An English Regency piece opening to reveal a chess board within, c.1820.
- Stunning grain detail, colour and finish to the rosewood
- Elegant cross-banded border to the top
- Convex frieze in good proportion
- Twist and fold over top revealing chess board within
- Chess board an inlay of maple and rosewood squares
- Storage space within well beneath top as it twists
- Raised on an octagonal stem standing within a collar moulding
- Mounted upon a hyperboloid platform raised on four bun feet
- Offering a solid and stable platform
