This is an antique fireside helmet scuttle. An English, copper coal and fuel store, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.

Wonderful hand beaten scuttle, a treat for a Victorian fireplace
Displaying a desirable aged patina and lightly time worn order
Quality copper presents deep amber hues with tasteful weathering
Rolled handle rotates upon shaped mounts with bonded rivets
Pleasingly shaped handle to the rear with tactile finish
Raised upon a tiered concentric foot with rolled edge
