This is an antique fireside companion. An English, gilt brass fireplace stand in the form of a Grenadier guard with poker, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1900.

- Natural horse hair to the decorative plume
- Tall, proud Grenadier guard resplendent in dress uniform
- Fireplace poker rest within the guard's hat — removable for use
- Outstretched left hand resting casually against his sword
- Fine detail to the chest and uniform, with a cloak draped across his shoulders
- Stood upon a thick hexagonal base, the whole weighing 12.3kg (27.11lb)
- Relief rear offering a view of the slender poker
- Stamped with 'Made in England' to the right-hand side
- Further stamped to the left with a serial number
