This is an antique fire basket. An English, wrought iron fireplace grate, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
- Generous example for the fireplace, with an appealing Victorian appearance
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Substantial wrought iron with a good, consistent graphite finish
- Traditional portcullis form, key to the Gothic revival overtones
- Rolled front apron and shaped support ends add neat detail
- Distinctive splayed toes to each corner
