This is an antique figural woodblock print. A Japanese, framed picture in the manner of Chikanobu, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900 and later.
- Delightful woodblock portrait in a charming mid-century frame
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Presented behind clear, bright glass with a silk cotton border
- Framed dressed with a hanging bracket for ease of mounting
- Original by Yōshū Chikanobu (1838 - 1912) from their set True Beauties (Shin Bijin)
- This piece being 'Woman After Bath' also known as Woman at Mirror
- Printed upon authentic kozo paper, with the ink sitting deeply within the nap and fibres
- Shows the woman drying off whilst sat at a mirror, known as a kyōdai
- Artist's character mark and title to the left corner, along with the official red seal
