Late Georgian Fall Front Bureau
Our Stock # LFA-1147
This is an English, antique, George III fall front bureau dating to c.1800.
A mid-sized bureau with a deep, lustrous sheen to the attractively figured mahogany, this piece stands on classic bracket feet with four graduated drawers.
Each drawer, edged with cock beading, features inlaid brass lock escutcheon with working lock and brass plate pulls stamped with stag hound motif.
Solid brass pulls slide the lopers out to support the cross bordered fall front and reveal the well fitted interior with eight drawers, six cubbies and a central cupboard with secret compartments. The drawers and door feature ebony and boxwood string inlay and brass furniture typical of the period.
A fine example, superb quality and a stunning piece presented in very good antique condition. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed & polished ready for the home.
