This is an antique decorative bear figure. A German, carved fruitwood natural study in the Black Forest taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Enthusiastically carved and fascinating study of the large riverside predator
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Ebonised fruitwood carved to a striking standard of detail
The hirsute bear proudly holds its catch within his mouth
Notice the quality fur detail and the scales of the fish
Presented upon a Belgian marble plinth with protective baize to base
