This is a quality vintage coffee table. An English, rosewood table with Danish influence, after Merrow Associates, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.
- Strikingly attractive example of sought-after, mid century furniture
- Displays a desirable aged patina with some small age related marks
- Quality veneer displays fine grain interest and rich russet hues
- Polished chrome supports dazzle in their bright finish
- Wide and low profile, ideal for the larger lounge
- Pleasingly thick apron with a depth of 6.5cm (2.5'')
- Stands upon a pair of square section legs
- Unmarked as Merrow, but very much of that oeuvre and quality
- Hand-written marking for Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company to the underside
- Lead designer Richard Merrow studied in Copenhagen, influencing his furniture aesthetic
- Production runs were limited to around 50 units of each design
This is a superb vintage coffee table, graced with a wonderful veneer finish and desirable mid century design. Perfect for the larger lounge. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
