This is an antique claret jug. An English, cut glass and silver plated decanter, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

- Quality silver plated upper and fluted handle shows minimal tarnishing
- Lid adorned with a fretwork handle above a domed section, engraved with diamond pattern
- Highly distinctive spout in the form of a bearded male mask, the brim of his hat being the spout edge
- Skilfully finished diamond cut pattern accentuates the body
- Wide circular base hosts deeply cut diamond shaped lobes
- The base finished with a striking 40-point star burst cut
- Bears the maker's initials for William Batt & Sons, Sheffield
