This is an antique ceremonial Yoruba chief's stool. A West African, Benin Kingdom hardwood side or lamp table, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1900.

Striking West African tribal craftsmanship
Displaying a desirable aged patina - split to top adds to the character
Hand-carved hardwood displays dark russet hues

Ovoid top with rolled edge sits above the whole
Pair of supporting figures stand alongside a grand leopard and cub
Standing upon a hollowed circular base
