This is an antique carpenter's square. A Scottish, ebony and brass tool, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Ebony handle capped with brass

Attractive tri-form brass shield with pegged bonding to each side
Carved geometric circular guild seal or motif to each side of the handle
The base featuring the name of a Jn. McCubbin
