Davis, Gabriel & Edward. Leeds
Founded in 1822 by Gabriel Davis trading from 20 Boar Lane, Leeds. Gabriel was an optician making mathematical, optical and philosophical instruments as well as hydrometers.
In partnership with his nephew Edward from 1826-30, the business expanded supplying barometers, levels, miner's dials, octants and thermometers.
1834 saw a move into 24 Boar Lane and also Saddler Street, Durham through until 1847.
