This is a mid 20th century Burmese chest. A hard wood teak trunk contemporary to the Art Deco period, circa 1940.

Of quality timber and craftsmanship
Attractive grain detail in a wax polished finish
Deep, rich tones and a desirable aged patina

Modestly decorated with paterae and pierced mounts
Delineated with mirrored rope twist bands to the lid and plinth
Carry handles to the ends and raised upon large ball feet

Beautifully shaped and pierced lock plates, key absent
The lid lifts on quality piano hinge to reveal voluminous storage within

A delightful chest in mellow tones. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
