This is an antique jardiniere stand. An English, mahogany and brass tree or bush planter, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1750. A delightfully self-contained piece, showcasing the refinement and elegance of Georgian craftsmanship.
- Select stocks present fine grain interest with rich caramel hues throughout
- Lift-out brass liner, original in form, showing a gently time-worn patina
- Attractive bowed form, offering generous internal capacity for planting
- Useful tool drawer set to the front — ideal for pruners, twine or small garden accessories
- Dressed with a brass batwing lock escutcheon and inset working lock — key present
- Brass drop handles to each side for ease of repositioning
- Raised upon a quartet of squat cabriole legs, terminating in shaped pad feet
- Displays warm colour and desirable ageing commensurate with its mid 18th century origins
