This is an antique double ink well. An English, ebonised mahogany desk tidy from the Aesthetic period, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1880.
- Quality desk apparatus with dark tones
- Displays a desirable aged patina
- Ebonised mahogany with deep black finish
- Striking glass ink wells with glass in good order
- Silvered carry handle to centre with elegantly serpentine pull
- A pair of cobalt blue ink wells dressed with brass hinged lids add a touch of colour
- Both resting within a square recess to each side of the piece
- Low, removable pyramid cover to the centre beneath the handle
- Wide drawer for storing writing instruments and letter paper to base
- Dressed with a dashing small drop handle with circular loop
This is a superb antique double ink well, with a pair of enticing blue glass receptacles. An elegant addition to a writing or office desk and delivered waxed, polished and ready for display or use.
