This is a vintage tree of life rug. A Caucasian, woven small carpet or prayer mat, dating to the late Art Deco period, circa 1940.
- Of useful doorway size at 55cm x 95cm (21.75" x 37.5")
- Displays a desirable aged patina with minimal wear or fade
- Copiously dyed wefts offer a superb colour palette
- Replete with a bounty of detail and with comfortable underfoot feel
- Large central medallion of minaret form, decorated with the eponymous tree of life
- Blossoming with flowers and visited by several large birds
- Foliate tramline borders chasing around the centrepiece
- Bands of long, loose tassels decorate each end
