This is a large pair of antique garden planters. An English, cast iron outdoor display urn from the time of the Great Exhibition, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Excellent early Victorian display pieces, ideal for a grand garden setting
- Presenting a desirable aged patina and in authentic, time-worn order
- Impressively weathered from a century and a half of outdoor display
- Substantial cast iron, with naturally weathered finish in a palette of browns and greys
- Egg and dart relief casting accentuates the broad, flared rim
- Urn form detailed around the circumference and upon the collars
- Stood upon gently tapered plinths, with raised sections for the urn to rest against
- In two parts for ease of placement, the urn and plinth weigh a combined 63kg (138.9 lb)
- Both the urn and plinth featuring drainage for planter use
