This is an antique corner cabinet. An English, mahogany and oak bow front wall cupboard, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1780.
- A fine example of Georgian craftsmanship, with delightful figuring
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
- Select stocks show fine grain interest to the bow front fascia and doors
- Quality oak frame shows wisps of medullary rays
- Shallow crown prominent over the casework, gently tiered in a cavetto moulding
- Pair of tall doors, accentuated with inset boxwood stringing
- Dressed with a brass oval escutcheon with working inset lock — key present
- Each door opening upon a pair of brass butterfly hinges
- Fitted interior offers a trio of shelves, arranged neatly at regular heights
- Lower bank of three drawers, each dressed with brass drop handles
- Pair of brass mounting loops for ease of wall hanging
This is a fine antique corner cabinet, with an appealing bow front form and wonderful figuring to the Georgian stocks. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
