This is a pair of antique carver chairs. An English, mahogany and leather elbow seat in the Chippendale manner, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800.

• Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich, deep caramel hues
• Wonderful leather pads, tanned in a rich burgundy hue

• Serpentine cresting rail, with scrolled detail to the 'Chippendale' ears
• Leading into a striking, pierced ribbon back splat with graceful fretwork
• Sinuous arms terminate in appealing scrolled knuckles
• Each arm raised upon a slender, forward canted support

• Quality, leather upholstery in good order, free of marks or loss
• Professionally reupholstered and traditionally stuffed cushioning
• Drop-in seat at a comfortable height of 46.5cm (18.25"), resting upon later reinforced brackets
• Raised upon square section front legs, with a gently splayed pair to the rear
