This is an antique decorative censer. A Chinese, bronze incense burner, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.

Delightfully ornate and substantial burner, with appealing finish
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Quality bronze shows mellow grey-gold hues throughout
Relief animals upon a foliate background create a distinctive appearance

Lift-off lid finished with a quartet of heart shaped vents
Raised upon four splayed feet, redolent of an elephant's foot
Good weight in the hand at 2.26kg (4.98 lb)
