This is a vintage metal depository. An English, tin trunk or chest, dating to the Art Deco period, circa 1940.

Appealing metal trunk
Displays a desirable aged patina
Black painted tin shows weathering commensurate with age
Leaf-shaped shoulders with bonded rivets for strength

Dressed with a broad, brass clasp with working lock — key present
Interior finished in an attractive crimson hue
Lid opens smoothly and held upright with metal chain stay
