This is a vintage decorative halved ammonite. An African, opalized fossil on display plinth, dating to Cretaceous period millions of years ago, polished and presented circa 1970.
- Delightful example with a dual view of the fascinating fossil data
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good original order
- Lightly polished shell, presented with its natural interior
- Fossilised roughly 100 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period
- Mellow orange hues to the outer shell, with ribbed finish to the edge
- Offers a light translucence to the edge when viewed in direct light
- Each half standing upon a tiered pine base with grooved inserts
- Removable from the plinth to enjoy the tactile natural finish
