This is a vintage decorative chest. An Oriental, camphorwood and Mother of Pearl linen trunk in the Art Deco taste, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1940. 

• Wonderfully inlaid finish and of substantial proportion
• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in very good order
• Camphorwood shows fine grain interest throughout
• Presented with a quality wax polish finish and mellow russet hues

• Decorated with bird of paradise inlaid scenes to lid and fascia
• Accentuated with Mother of Pearl inlay borders throughout
• Deep profile lid held securely by large brass clasp, engraved with foliate detail
• Pair of brass bracket rests hold the lid open for ease of access

• Naturally finished interior offers the desirable aroma typical of camphorwood
• Beautifully clean, the interior replete with a removable slide tray for smaller items
• Exposed dovetail joints to each corner a testament to the quality craftsmanship
• Raised prominently upon four shaped bracket feet
