This is a pair of antique figural andirons. A French, bronze decorative fireside tool rest with female form in country house taste, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Strikingly decorative fireside interest with fine tonality
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Substantial bronze shows wonderfully weathered hues
- Rear rests also crafted in bronze, an unusual choice
- Superb female figure, holding a long bow and a quiver in the other hand
- Flowing hair and gown detail presents well
- Rest has a depth of 16cm for supporting smaller grates
- Good weight in the hand at 3.19kg and 3kg respectively
