This is an antique workman's chest. An English, pine tool chest or coffee table, dating to the Victorian period and later, circa 1880.

Robust and substantial, with a useful fitted interior
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Stained pine exterior presents steel coloured hues
Pleasingly clean interior finished in rich biscuit colour

Substantially braced lid opens to reveal the late interior
Dressed to the front with an inset lock — untested, key absent
Two lift compartments and a pair of sliding covers add versatility
Cast iron drop handles aid ease of carriage
