This is an antique turner’s armchair. An English, oak John Starkey 'Warwick' style elbow seat, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1895. A fascinating example inspired by the celebrated ‘Old Saxon’ form, offering great presence and distinctive craftsmanship.
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
- Select oak stocks present appealing grain interest and warm caramel hues
- Crafted in the John Starkey Warwick style, echoing early vernacular forms
- Superb triangular motif to the composition, crafted from impressively thick stocks
