This is a vintage Shiraz decorative rug. A Persian, woven hall or lounge carpet, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1940.

Of useful, near Qali size at 162cm x 305cm (63.75" x 120")
Displaying a desirable aged patina with some light sun fade and minimal wear
Hand-woven, colourful pile offers a palette of warm, inviting hues
Provides a comfortable underfoot feel for the hallway or living room

A trio of large medallions occupy the central frieze, framed by triangular panels
Black ground hosts an array of small, colourful flower heads
Tramline border in red intersected by a dark midnight blue band, each decorated with foliate motif
Dressed to each end with bands of short, tightly spaced tassels
