This is an antique fire basket. An English, wrought iron fireplace grate, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1885.

Generous example for the fireplace, with an appealing Victorian appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Substantial wrought iron with a good, consistent graphite finish
Traditional portcullis form, with ball finial accents and bead detail
Front supports accentuated with foliate relief and urn finials
Stands upon distinctive tiered toes to each corner

This is a fine antique fire basket, with wonderful Gothic revival overtones and of good proportion. Delivered ready for the fireplace.
