This is an antique pocket explorer's compass. An English, mahogany cased instrument, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.

- 50mm dial glass in good order, free of marks
- Paper compass face annotated with a 32-wind dial — displays the half and quarter winds
- Striking blue directional hand engraved with N and S respectively
- Second hand actuated with small push button, acting as a safety rest when closed
- Opens upon a pair of charming diamond shaped hinges
